Last “American Pie” cast member agrees to “Reunion”

By Sean O’Connell Hail, Hail, the “American Pie” gang’s practically all here for what’s shaping up to be a decent reunion.

Thomas Ian Nicholas, considered to be the last of the original cast members who was still holding out on signing a deal, has agreed to return for “American Reunion,” a sequel being set up at Universal, THR reports.

The actor will join his longtime co-stars Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Eugene Levy, who all have agreed to return. Nicholas played Kevin Myers in the “Pie” films, have been out of theaters since 2003.

Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the creative team behind the “Harold & Kumar” film, are writing and directing the sequel, which promises to catch up on the gang as they age, mature, and deal with “Big Chill” types of problems. Oh, and someone will probably stick their junk into a dessert. This is “American Pie,” after all.
