Conan O’Brien taking his show on the road … again
By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: In between television gigs, Conan O’Brien took his show on the road. The comedy-music tour has been documented in the extremely entertaining “Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop,” a documentary that made the rounds at film festivals earlier this year. And while O’Brien made it clear that life on the road ended up being a grind, it appears he’d like to get a taste of that life once again.
TBS revealed Wednesday that the late-night talk show host will take his Los Angeles-based program to New York for a week’s worth of shows later this year. In addition, he’ll set up shop in Chicago in 2012, THR reports.
The move makes sense. O’Brien did his program in New York for years, and a return to the city could be considered a reward to fans who’ve supported him. Chicago, meanwhile, is a natural stop for the Midwest, and likely will attract audience members from neighboring states.
In the meantime, here’s hoping Conan rents a tour bus and hits the road again sometime soon, because “Can’t Stop” is a blast and fans in those cities seemed to have a great time at his live shows.
