Lady Gaga, Beyonce, U2 part of all-star “Idol” finale tonight

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The tenth season of “American Idol” draws to a close tonight, with Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery finding out which singer prevailed (though honestly, both are guaranteed a shot at a successful career, likely in the country music field).

But the hook of the results show has been the all-star guest performances, and tonight should be no different.

Lady Gaga returns to the “Idol” world after mentoring contestants earlier this season. But she’ll be joined by U2’s Bono and The Edge performing a song from their Spider-Man musical, according to THR.

And that’s not even counting the planned duets. Jack Black plans to sing with Casey Abrams, and Beyonce will perform with the Top 13 girls (no doubt performing her hit song “Who Run the World (Girls).” Finalists Lauren Alaina will sing with “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood, while Scotty McCreery will perform with one of his heroes, Tim McGraw.

We’re still not finished. James Durbin reportedly is singing with Judas Priest, and Haley Reinhart will duet with Tony Bennett. It’s going to be a jam-packed evening, no matter who wins.
