Coachella expanding to two weekends in 2012

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: It is one of the biggest outdoor music festivals of its kind in the United States. And next year, it’s getting even bigger.

Coachella music festival promoters are reporting that the concert will expand to two weekends next year, the event’s 13th consecutive year of live music in the California desert. The dates for next year’s concert will be April 13-15 and April 20-22, with “the same lineups for both events,” according to Reuters.

Weekend passes for the Coachella concert will go on sale this Friday.

“We know many of you were unable to attend this year’s festival because passes sold out much sooner than anticipated,” promoters Goldenvoice said in a statement. “We were truly surprised by the overwhelming response and remain honored by your passion and enthusiasm.”
