Marion Cotillard may be a “Low Life” for James Gray

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Marion Cotillard may have just given birth to her first child, but she’s showing no signs of slowing down from her professional gig.

The actress currently can be seen in Woody Allen’s latest, “Midnight In Paris.” She also has a part in Christopher Nolan’s anticipated sequel “The Dark Knight Rises,” which is filming as we speak. And according to reports, Cotillard’s circling “Low Life,” the next project from “We Own the Night” director James Gray.

Cotillard would play an immigrant moving to America from her native Poland who finds herself in a dirty, compromising predicament on the boat heading to Ellis Island, Deadline reports. She’d be joined in the cast by Joaquin Phoenix (a frequent Gray collaborator) and Jeremy Renner, who’s also in negotiations.

Such an interesting ensemble. Phoenix reportedly quit acting, though recent reports have him linked to Paul Thomas Anderson’s next, as-yet-untitled gig. And Renner, like Cotillard, seems to attach his name to everything. We’ll see if “Low Life” pans out, but if it doesm the cast already intrigues.
