Blake Lively is the “Hollywood Celebrity of the Week”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Celebrities are required to take the good with the bad. It’s the high cost of fame, and while the perks are fantastic, the pitfalls can sting.

Take Blake Lively. Most of her career has been marked with successes, both on the screen and off. The California native, born to a showbiz family, broke on the scene with “Sandman” in 1998 but quickly followed that with the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” movies, a “New York, I Love You” segment, and a role in Ben Affleck’s “The Town.” Of course, her star shone brightest on television, where Lively contributed to the saucy TV soap “Gossip Girl” for several seasons.

But lately, the waters of stardom have grown choppy. Lively’s personal life has been placed under the microscope as she deals with rumors of a romance with Leonardo DiCaprio, and the shocking scandal of leaked cell phone photos that reportedly show the actress in the nude. As we said, that price of fame can be steep.

Yet we’re choosing to focus on the work, and Lively’s busy as ever. She’s about to play leading lady to Ryan Reynolds’ “Green Lantern,” elevating her career to blockbuster status. And she’s got film projects lined up for miles. Because of her ability to endure, Blake Likely has been named our “Hollywood Celebrity of the Week.”
