Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber grab CMT Awards in Nashville

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Justin Bieber … country music star?

OK, so the pop artist probably isn’t ready to storm Nashville just yet, but Bieber did win a Best Collaborative Video of the Year award at Wednesday night’s CMT Awards for his “That Should Be Me” with Rascal Flatts.

The rest of the evening’s winners included regulars from the country music genre. Taylor Swift earned Video of the Year honors for her hit single, “Mine.”

“I wish I could be there, but I’m hanging out with 15,000 of my closest friends in Milwaukee,” Taylor said via satellite from a stop on her current tour.

Blake Shelton grabbed Male Video of the Year (for “Who Are You When I’m Not Looking”) and Best Web Video (for “Kiss My Country Ass”). And Miranda Lambert won Female Video of the Year for her emotional video, “The House That Built Me.”

Rocker-turned-country-crooner Kid Rock hosted the ceremony, which was held in Nashville.
