“X Factor” judges comment on departed Cheryl Cole

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: As Simon Cowell’s “X Factor” went through auditions in New Jersey on Wednesday and Thursday, current judges Paul Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger finally commented on the controversy surrounding Cheryl Cole’s dismissal from the U.S. version of the UK hit, as well as update the media on the season’s progress.

Scherzinger, who took over for the absent Cole on the judge’s panel, told THR she “tries not to read that” when it comes to what is being reported, and went on to call Cole “a lovely, beautiful girl.”

Abdul added that Cole is “uber-talented. She’s lovely. We’re friends. We have a great time together.”

As for the new show, the former Pussycat Doll dancer said it will be “frickin’ wicked awesome. It’s like a spaceship coming to America to give the people what they want.”

Um, OK. We’ll go with that for now. More from the “X Factor” auditions as they make their way across the States.
