Chris Rock weighs in on Tracy Morgan’s homophobic comments

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: “I don’t know about you,” tweeted Chris Rock on Friday, “but I don’t want to live in world where Tracy Morgan cant say foul inappropriate sh*t.” The tweet may have been meant to soften the blow of Morgan’s current PR nightmare, stemming from homophobic remarks he made during a Nashville show.

Yet, Rock’s seemingly strong support of Morgon on Friday were dampened by a second (extended) tweet on Saturday, in which Rock took far more than 140 characters to make himself perfectly clear:

“Tracy morgan is a tad off we all know that so when tracy says something i usually don’t take it anymore serious than i would a statement from gary busey or flavor flav .when i first heard the statement i thought it was offensive but it also reminded me of my father saying ill kill you if you ever bring home a white girl but after reading everything tracy said . wow i get it that shit wasn’t called for and i don’t support it at all. now can i please go to the tony awards without getting my ass kicked.”

Since when are these people supposed to dictating what is wrong & right and be taken so seriously? I had never heard of Tracey Morgan, had never listend to Chris Rock’s act in any form, but from what I see and hear of them they are both ignorant and obnoxious. They could be Rock Morgan and Chris Tracey for all I would know of them. I think it was appropriate in the day when entertainers were just that – like court jesters, they were only allowed in the rear door, were not allowed to look at or speak to the guests, not allowed to turn their back on the people they were entertaining and had to back away from them on their way out.. Now people treat entertainers like they are gods of some kind. An entertainer speaks, whether they are a good one or a bad one (Barbra Streisand or Courtney Love) and the whole world sits up and listens and discusses it; their every word makes news. This Morgan dude is ugly, loud and rude. I don’t find him funny or entertainig and I hope I never have to see a picture of his fool face ever agian, either in print or on TV. Periiod.
