“Glee” adds six to writing room for season three

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The writing room of FOX’s smash hit “Glee” is getting an injection of creativity as it prepares for its third season.

Six new writers have been added to the “Glee” staff leading into the next season, which begins with brainstorming sessions on Monday. Allison Adler, Marti Noxon, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Michael Hitchcock, Matt Hodgson and Ross Maxwell have been hired to bring fresh ideas to “Glee,” joining executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. THR reports.

Murphy told the trade that their focus will be on lengthy character arcs, which fans seem to respond to.

“Last year you had the baby story line that everyone could follow and this year we didn’t do that,” he told THR. “Next year we’re going to be doing that more. What I have learned from this season is I think people want story arcs.”

They also want live music, which is why the “Glee” cast tours all summer, and the “Glee” concert movie, “Glee Live! 3D!” opens everywhere on Aug. 12.
