Full “Puss In Boots” trailer has kitty-cat action

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The prequel trend continues in Hollywood. Now that we know how Batman began and have learned the members of the X-Men’s “First Class,” it’s time to figure out how Puss picked up his boots.

Promising to tell the “legend” of the furry, orange kitty, DreamWorks’ “Puss in Boots” spins off from the “Shrek” franchise to create a standalone adventure for Antonio Banderas. A full trailer, just released, sets Puss up as a Robin Hood of his day, fighting injustices as he romances a rival kitty (voiced by Salma Hayek).

So far, “Puss” looks very much like a “Shrek” sequel, with the inclusion of fairy tale staples (hello, Humpty Dumpty) and the same animation style. And it’s in 3D. Yay?

“Puss” will be in theaters on Nov. 4, but in the meantime, we’ve got the full trailer below.
