Jamie Foxx replacing Will Smith in Tarantino’s Western?

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Will Jamie Foxx be Django in Quentin Tarantino’s planned spaghetti Western?

It’s amazing how many news stories “break” on Twitter. That’s where Jeff Goldsmith tweeted the item stating that, “Will Smith is out! Inside sources tell me that Tarantino has chosen Oscar winner @iamjamiefoxx to play Django! #fb”

A print journalist and podcast host, Goldsmith has good sources in Tarantino’s camp, having tipped us off to the Smith rumor in the first place (as well as being one of the first to mention Leonardo DiCaprio‘s involvement as a vicious plantation owner in QT’s still-developing flick).

All of this is rumor and hearsay until Tarantino confirms his “Django Unchained” cast, but we’re expecting DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz in key roles, as well as parts for Samuel L. Jackson and possibly Idris Elba. The picture is taking shape, and has targeted a December 2012 release date. Expect confirmations soon!
