Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” jacket sold at auction

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: On the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death, the iconic jacket worn by the King of Pop in his legendary “Thriller” video sold at auction over the weekend.

The jacket fetched $1.8 million, and was purchased by Milton Verret, a commodities trader from Austin, Texas, the AP reports. It is one of two jackets worn by Jackson during the video’s filming.

Verret says the jacket “will be sent on tour and used as a fundraising tool for children’s charities.” Meanwhile, a portion of the jacket’s sales “will go to the Shambala Preserve, a big cat sanctuary caring for two tigers Jackson one owned.”
