More “Man of Steel” news on Meloni’s role

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: We reported last week that “Law & Order” star Christopher Meloni found a role in Zack Snyder’s Superman reboort “Man of Steel.” We just didn’t know what the role would be.

But the actor confirmed that he’d be playing a military leader in the upcoming film, but couldn’t tell Vulture much more.

“When Vulture caught up with the now ex–Law & Order: SVU star at the Public Theater Gala earlier this week, he told us he’d be instead playing a general in the movie,” the site reports.

“But when we pressed for more information about the role, he said, ‘I can’t tell you, or I’d have to kill you.’ We did manage to learn that he starts filming at the end of August and he’ll shoot his part over the course of five months in locations including Chicago, Vancouver, and Edwards Air Force Base.”

So it’s not much, but Meloni’s military will be on screen. Helping Superman? Or hurting him? We’re left to speculate.
