“Super 8” bonus scene finds its way online

By Sean O’Connell Can’t get enough of “Super 8,” the new creature feature from director J.J. Abrams? Don’t want to wait until the film reaches DVD to enjoy deleted scenes and bonus features?

Then today’s your lucky day. is hosting a scene not seen in theaters. It features budding filmmakers Joe (Joel Courtney) and Charles (Riley Griffiths) planning the shoot at the train station and discussing the involvement of Alice (Elle Fanning) in an upcoming scene. It also tips its hand to the crush Joe will have on Alice as the film progresses. You can see why the scene was cut, but it’s a sweet addition that rounds out these already developed characters. Watch it here.

“Super 8” is one of this summer’s pleasant surprises, earning close to $100M ($95.1M to date) on a reported $50M budget. It likely will reach DVD and Blu-ray in the fall, but for now, it’s still doing well at the box office, and this clip could remind people that if they haven’t caught it yet, they better hurry.
