“Transformers” reviews are rolling in!

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Michael Bay’s third “Transformers” film, “Dark of the Moon,” opens everywhere tonight, Tuesday, June 28. But the film screened for media members across the country last night, leading many to post their reviews today.

They can best be described as “fair.”

The Hollywood Reporter calls “Dark of the Moon” a “a techno spectacle that is spectacularly empty.”

The Chicago Tribune dismisses it as “a work of ineffable soullessness and persistent moral idiocy.”

HitFix gave the film a more positive spin, saying this is “easily the best film in the series, and there’s a solid hour-long action sequence in Chicago that uses everything Bay’s ever done before, but all blended into one exhausting push to save one girl in the midst of a war involving two planets.”

The film only has a 44% Fresh grade on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s with a miniscule 25 reviews filed. Expect that number to fluctuate as more flow in. And then brace for the fan enthusiasm, which begins tonight at 9 p.m., when “Dark of the Moon” opens everywhere.
