“Brave” images and teaser for Pixar’s next flick

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The last time Pixar released a feature film, we spent months debating its merit and tracked it all the way through the Oscar race, where it scored a deserved Best Picture nomination and earned a Best Animated Feature trophy.

But that was “Toy Story 3.” Now that the studio has unleashed “Cars 2” to critical scorn, we can’t skip ahead to the next Pixar feature fast enough. Luckily, the studio seems to agree, which is why they are obliging us with photos and teasers for its upcoming feature “Brave,” from co-directors Mark Andrews and Brenda Chapman.

“Brave” teasers were attached to “Cars 2” (in most theaters), telling the story of a red-headed adventurer who’d prefer to be in the woods than safely in her castle. We don’t know too much about the plot, aside from the fact that Kelly MacDonald voices the Scottish heroine Merida, and that she is a skilled archer.

Here’s the latest teaser:

And now the bad news: We have about a year to wait before “Brave” reaches theaters on June 22, 2012. But if it recaptures some of the Pixar magic that eluded “Cars 2,” it will be worth the wait.
