Starz cancels “Camelot” in its first season

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: Despite the success of shows of a similar genre, Starz’s “Camelot” lacks the strength to succeed—the network announced that its first season (which has aired 10 episodes so far) will be its last.

Stiff competition from Showtime’s “The Borgias” and HBO’s “Game of Thrones” eroded value that the Starz network hoped to extract from a potential viewer base that seemed ready for an Arthurian-themed show. The success of other period dramas like “The Tudors” invited replication, but ultimately “Camelot” could not compete.

cancelled? why? this show was 100 times better then Tudors could ever hope of being. all they talked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much in tudors. and ONE of Camelots episodes are better then 4 seasons of tudors.

as for games of thrones.. only the last 4 ep. was any good! and they …. the lead characters so what will happen in 2nd season when all the actors are ….

I know! But those of us who watch it aren’t the loud mouth drama queens that are smart enough to voice their opinions so we get over-looked… If only we had a louder VOICE! Make the second season DAMN YOU!

What a shame. This is an excellent show, and way way better than Game of Thrones. Bad move Starz.

well, it wasnt as good as game of thrones, but it was way better then half the crap starz puts out, whats sad is it is almost 5 starz on netflix and its not popular enough for em? maybe they should just realize that no one accually has cable anymore so of course its gunna have low ratings, whatever, they will be begging to come back after the put some crap in its time slot, and it has worse ratings
