Kanye West Thanks Fans for Enduring Support At this year’s Essence Music Festival, Saturday July 2nd, the hip-hop headliner did not disappoint. There was complex lighting, pyrotechnics, and about 24 dancers who accompanied the artist onstage. He performed 20 songs, varying from his earlier works to his 2010 release, ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.’

According to, Kanye told the crown “Even though the media tries to lie to you every day I just wanna say I thank ya’ll for standing by me and supporting me even when they said my career was over.”

The Grammy winner even mentioned his infamous incident at the 2009 MTV VMA’s, joking that he “had a little bit to drink that night.”

Once the show came to an end around 1AM, Kanye dedicated the show (and every show) to his mother, before performing the final song.

Will Kanye keep up his good behavior?
