Sacha Baron Cohen wants J.B. Smoove for “Dictator”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Curb your enthusiasm about this next casting announcement; “Curb Your Enthusiasm” co-star J.B. Smoove has a new gig.

The comedian has joined “The Dictator,” Sacha Baron Cohen’s in-production comedy about a despot who “risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed,” a Paramount press release states. No word on who Smoove will play, though, as THR reports details of the comedy, which is being directed by “Borat” helmer Larry Charles, are “being closely guarded.”

Now that Smoove also is back on screen in HBO’s “Curb” with Larry David, he’s taking the time to launch a new endeavor. The “Hall Pass” actor will launch a comedy Web site over at TheRuckus.com, where he’ll likely promote upcoming appearances in Cameron Crowe’s “We Bought a Zoo” and the Jonah Hill comedy, “The Sitter.”
