Jessica Simpson is the “Hollywood T.V. Star of the Week”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: She was a singer first, and an eventual movie star, appearing in such films as “The Dukes of Hazzard” and “The Love Guru.” But it was her appearance as “herself” on the pioneering reality television program “Newlyweds” with one-time husband Nick Lachey that catapulted Jessica Simpson into our living rooms and our lives.

And it’s television that likely will boost Simpson back onto our radar.

Something about this beautiful blonde’s candor and self-depricating humor connects with viewers on the small screen. Though she always has stayed in the public eye with music, fashion and makeup lines, Simpson shines on T.V. Which is why she’s coming back.

Simpson has just announced she’ll team with Nicole Ritchie as celebrity mentors on NBC’s planned series “Fashion Star.” She’ll join menswear designer John Varvatos and host Elle Macpherson to work with aspiring fashionistas as they compete for a chance to win a multi-million dollar contract to jumpstart their own brands.

But the Simpson brand is stronger than ever. And that’s why we’re proud to announce that Jessica Simpson is the “Hollywood T.V. Star of the Week.”
