BowWow’s baby mama drama

By Kim Palacios

hollywoodnews.com: Rapper/actor BowWow (now not so little at 24) recently announced the birth of his daughter, Shai. Yet, according to TMZ, who interviewed the infant’s mother, Joie Chavis, it took BowWow days to arrive at the hospital and upwards of two months to publicly claim his child.

Indeed, according to Chavis, BowWow’s name does not even appear on the birth certificate, and court proceedings must be pursued in order to amend the document. Bow-Wow made the belated announcement days ago via his web site, citing mixed feelings about how his fan base would react to the news of the child star growing up.

“I was nervous on how y’all would look at me,” said BowWow. “My li’l girl is getting big fast. I love every minute of it. She inspires me to go harder. Even made me treat my mother better, it’s like it made me into a man overnight.”

Continued the star, “For the past three years [I’ve] been battling life,” BowWow wrote on his website. “I felt as if I had no purpose to live…until God gave me the illest gift of my life…nothing amounts to my li’l girl.”
