Martin Scorsese’s George Harrison doc coming to HBO

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Martin Scorsese continues to dabble in music-related movies in between his coveted dramas. The “Shine a Light” director, who captured the Rolling Stones in concert, now turns his attentions to The Beatles for a George Harrison documentary that will air on HBO in October.

Rolling Stone magazine, which confirms the air dates of Oct. 5 and 6, says the doc consists of home movies, interviews and unseen footage of the late Beatle, thanks in part to the contributions of Harrison’s widow, Olivia.

Scorsese will “George Harrison: Living in the Material World,” which airs in two partsover the course of two days.

RS adds that the documentary “will include interviews with Harrison’s Beatles bandmates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Yoko Ono, Phil Spector, George Martin and his close friend Eric Clapton.”
