Steve Carell on New ‘Office’ Boss James Spader

HollywoodNews.com: Former boss on ‘The Office’, Steve Carell, has some words about his newest replacement on the NBC show. Now that Carell’s character, Michael Scott, is no longer in charge of Dunder Mifflin, actor James Spader is taking over the office.

On Monday, Carell told Access Hollywood: “I think it’s an excellent choice…he will infuse all this new energy into the show.” According to Access Hollywood, Spader’s character, Robert California will appear in the next season, “first taking over as branch manager, before quickly moving up to the parent company – Sabre – and becoming their CEO.”

Carell adds, “In talking to the cast, everyone’s very excited and I know it’ll be a good season.”

What do you think about Carell’s replacement?

I love James Spader, but I’m unsure how he will do in this, but of course anyone trying to replace Steve Carell is going to have a tough time

Steve is a tough act to follow. James Spader was brilliant on the season finale of The Office, so I am looking forward to the new dynamics. Best wishes to James, the rest of the cast, and the writers for a great 8th season!
