Cowboys & Aliens promotion is a success
HollywoodNews.com: Social Fan Wrap continues to make history as the Cowboys & Aliens’ movie premiere is a little more than a week away from the July 29 release date.
On May 25, Social Fan Wrap announced a partnership with Universal Studios and JD Motorsports. Universal Studios’ summer sensation, Cowboys & Aliens became a sponsor for Mike Wallace in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for 9 races, stretching from May to July.
The idea of the promotion is to raise awareness of the Cowboys & Aliens’ Facebook page by randomly selecting fans to have their Facebook profile pictures on Wallace’s car for five races. The fans entered the promotion by “Liking” the Cowboys & Aliens Facebook page, texting “RACE” to 90210, or by scanning the QR code that was on Wallace’s car and team hauler.
The promotion kicked off at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 28 where the original Cowboys & Aliens scheme was on the car. The scheme also ran at Chicagoland Speedway, Michigan International Speedway and Road America as a primary sponsor.
Social Fan Wrap made NASCAR history as soon as the car was pushed off the hauler in Daytona for the Subway Jalapeno 250. There were over 50,000 Facebook profile pictures in a mosaic style on Wallace’s Impala. While in Daytona, Wallace led the race and ran in the top five on numerous occasions. In the end, the No. 01 Cowboys & Aliens Chevrolet Impala finished in the 15th position.
