Jon Hamm joining Cross, Arnett in “Todd Margaret”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: There’s so much more to Jon Hamm than just Don Draper, as anyone who has seen him on “30 Rock,” “Saturday Night Live” and on screen in Kristen Wiig’s “Bridesmaids” can attest. Now it appears Hamm will find another outlet for his comedy.

Hamm plans to guest star on the IFC series “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret with David Cross and Will Arnett with the series resumes in January 2012, THR reports.

The “Mad Men” lead is on the hook for five of the series’ six new half-hour episodes, which also will feature anticipated new music by The Smiths’ legendary guitarist Johnny Marr.

No word yet on the character Hamm will play. The show follow an American (Cross) who takes a job running the London-based sales team for a bogus energy drink named Thunder Muscle. But the fish-out-of-water comedy always starts with Margaret appearing as a defendant in a British court, and the show flashing back to show how he has been charged. It’s like “Mr. Bean” meets Gervais’ “The Office.” Hamm will be an excellent fit.
