Amy Winehouse’s Father Said ‘She Passed Away Happy’
HollywoodNews.com: On Tuesday, after saying goodbye at Amy Winehouse’s funeral, her father, Mitch Winehouse, made a statement in which he explains that he believed Amy died ‘in good spirits’. The singer passed away alone on Saturday in her London apartment, at the age of 27.
Mr. Winehouse commented, “Knowing she wasn’t depressed, knowing she passed away, knowing she passed away happy – it makes us all feel better,” according to People.com. He added that his daughter was “the happiest she has been for years.”
Mitch also described Amy as “in love, over drugs and in good spirits,” People reports. Allegedly, he’s “setting up the Amy Winehouse Foundation as ‘something to help the things she loved – children, horses – but also to help those struggling with substance abuse’.”
While the late grammy-winner’s autopsy has been inconclusive, more results are “expected in two to four weeks after further toxicology tests are performed.”
What do you think about Amy’s father’s statements and his goal to set up a foundation in her name?
