Andy Dick to stand trial in West Virginia

By Sean O’Connell Andy Dick is about to have his day in court.

The unpredictable comedian has been ordered by a West Virginia judge to stand trial for felony sexual abuse charges that stem from an incident that took place in a local nightclub at some point last year, the AP reports. Dick has been ordered to submit a urine test ahead of his Jan. 17 trial date.

Cabell County Circuit Judge Paul Farrell, who set the trial, told Dick he “would be jailed if he returned to court for a pre-trial hearing in September under the influence of drugs or alcohol.”

Dick replied to the court, “I understand. I’ve been sober.”

Dick is being accused of grabbing a bouncer’s crotch and groping a patron at a Huntington, W. Va. bar back in January 2010. Dick was performing at a different venue, the Funny Bone Comedy Club, at the time.
