Kurt Cobain bridge memorial plans “scrapped”

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Plans to honor Kurt Cobain with a memorial bridge in his home town of Aberdeen, Washington have hit a road block.

City council members “scrapped” a motion to rename a bridge after the late Nirvana singer for fear that such a move would honor Cobain’s drug use and suicide, Rolling Stone reports.

But as a compromise, RS says that the council “did approve a plan to rename a small strip of land near the Wishkah river in his honor.” A park located near that strip of land already contains a plaque and a statue of a guitar.
