Directors Guild announces two key Awards dates

By Sean O’Connell The Directors Guild of America announced a few key dates in what’s shaping up to be an exciting awards season.

Feature film nominations for the 64th annual DGA awards will be announced on Jan. 9.
That leads into the organization’s annual awards ceremony, which this year will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28.

The DGA long has been considered a bellweather for the Academy’s Best Director winner. Last year’s winner, Tom Hooper of “The King’s Speech,” all but cemented his Oscar win when he claimed the DGA trophy.

DGA president Taylor Hackford revealed that their dinner will take place at Hollywood & Highland’s Grand Ballroom in Los Angeles.
