Josh Duhamel voicing pirate on Disney’s animated “Jake”

Hollywoodnews.com: The Disney Channel’s animated series “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” which runs daily on Disney Junior, is a clever way to extend the studio’s “Peter Pan” brand.
It features three young pirate adventurers – Jake, Izzy and Cubby – as they seek out treasure and take on Pan’s rivals, Capt. Hook and Mr. Smee. My three-year-old adores it, and he hadn’t yet seen “Pan,” so this was a great way to introduce him to the world of Peter and his lost boys.
And now it sounds like the show’s getting a new, recurring character voiced by … Josh Duhamel?
The “Transformers” star is lending his voice to the character of Capt. Flynn, who Deadline describes as “a dashing young pirate who is well-known for his legendary adventures on the Never Sea.”
“Flynn and his boat, The Barracuda, are plucked from the sea in a giant windstorm and shipwrecked in the Never Land Desert, where Jake and his crew find him,” the site reports.
Duhamel has “Transformers” money, so a spot on a Disney cartoon doesn’t seem necessary. He is married to Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie, though the couple doesn’t have kids yet. Maybe he’s planning for a not-too-distant future?
In the meantime, the animated series will be back in business for its second season early next year.
