Can Joseph Gordon-Levitt get into the awards race? – AWARDS SEASON ROUNDUP

By Sean O’Connell’s Awards Season Roundup collects insights from around the Internet on films that are running in the Oscar race.

We wonder what Sony Pictures Classics’ decision to expand Woody Allen’s “Midnight In Paris” means for the film’s Oscar chances.

Sasha Stone of Awards Dailycan’t review Chris Evans in “Puncture,” but that doesn’t stop her from raving about the actor and the film, which she calls “one of my favorite films of the year.”

Kris Tapley at InContention starts the Joseph Gordon-Levitt ball rolling on behalf of “50/50.” Allow me to help him by giving the ball an extra shove, because Gordon-Levitt’s outstanding in the film (hardly a shock) and deserves a seat at the table in any awards conversation.

While Scott Feinberg makes his mid-August predictions.
