Dan Aykroyd confirms “Ghostbuster 3” … Is serious this time!

By Sean O’Connell Who ya’ gonna call? Well, if Dan Aykroyd has his way, you’ll be calling the Ghostbusters one more time.

Speaking today on Dennis Miller Radio, the comedian and founding member of the Ghostbusters (as well as a part of its sequel) confirmed that a third installment in the beloved film franchise will happen, and may even begin shooting in the spring.

Aykroyd confirmed a rumored plot that the original Ghostbusters – Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Banks and Bill Murray – would pass the torch to a younger generation, specifically three guys and a young woman. When pressed, Akyroyd said he liked Matthew Gray Gubler of the TV show “Criminal Minds,” but they’ll look at everybody.

Aykroyd also said “hopefully with Mr. Murray” when asked if Bill would return, backtracking a bit by saying the idea of the franchise is bigger than any one actor. So the Ghostbuster Babies concept is still in play, and Aykroyd sounds confident. What do you think? Want to see it? Let us know!
