Jane Lynch on The Emmys, her book and Sue Sylvester

HollywoodNews.com: Aren’t you looking forward to seeing what Jane Lynch has in store for us as host of the Emmys next month?

I think it’s great to have a female hosting one of the these shindigs and my hunch is that Jane will be sensational.

She talked to TV Guide about the gig and other topics recently. Here are some excerpts:

Q. What makes a great awards show host?

A. The ability to know when to stand back and let others shine – and to move things along.

Q. What would Sue Sylvester think of that?

A. Sue would think she should be given every award and she should be on every moment of the telecast – which is where she and I differ.

Q. Is Sue really going to run for political office on Glee?

A. Yes. She’s going to run on the platform of, ‘Let’s get rid of the arts and cut all the entitlements.’ She’s basically running as Michele Bachmann without the crazy ‘I hate homosexuals’ bit.

Q. Your memoir is coming out next month. Is it funny?

A. You’ll have a chuckle. [laughs] It’s called Happy Accidents, and my wife [psychologist Lara Embry] made it readable.
