Justin Bieber’s on-air convo with Selena Gomez about his snake named “Johnson”

By Kim Palacios There was an easy answer to the question Selena Gomez asked Justin Bieber on the black carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards Pre-show. Given the conspicuous YSL pin on his lapel, Justin Bieber could have left it at “Yves Saint Laurent.” Yet, when Gomez asked him what he was wearing, he talked about his snake—the small, yellow snake he held in his hand (one the camera did not bother zooming in on for clarification). The result? Bieber had what felt like a rather lengthy on-camera conversation with his girlfriend about his snake named (wait for it…) “Johnson”.

“So, can you tell me what you’re wearing here?” Gomez began. “Can you talk about this?” she continued, motioning to his entire ensemble.

“I have a snake…” he began, extending the snake toward Gomez, a gesture that caused her to take a step back. “I have red pants and cheetah shoes…” Bieber continued. But, by then, Gomez had regained interest in his snake. “Alright what’s your snake’s name?”

You know the rest.

Gomez eventually moved on to ask Bieber about his nominations, but not before both stars were shown unsuccessfuly hiding their mirth. To Gomez’ credit, she was more skillful than Bieber at concealing her snicker.
