James Bond crew scouting locations in India

Hollywoodnews.com: Double Oh Seven could be filming his next adventure in Delhi.

India’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry has granted director Sam Mendes permission to shoot scenes for the next James Bond adventure in the country, with an emphasis on locations near Delhi, Goa and Ahmedabad.

According to The Times of India newspaper, Mendes’ team was hoping to shoot in two railway locations in Goa to complete a railway action sequence, but they were running into some resistance due to “security reasons.”

THR adds that in the capital Delhi, the Bond crew “is expected to shoot in the crowded old bazaar area of Daryaganj and in the Sarojini Nagar flea market popular for its many clothing stalls and shops while Mumbai is also expected to be on the agenda.”

“Bond 23” is expected to be in theaters by late 2012.
