George Clooney talks “Ides of March” in Venice – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Very few of us have the vacation days, cash or resources to make it to the Venice Film Festival. Thankfully, the Internet does a bang up job of bringing the highlights of the fest to you.

George Clooney, for instance, spoke with the media following the world premiere of his political drama, “The Ides of March.” We’re hearing the film has a very good shot at making a run for a Best Picture nomination, while Clooney also could find himself in the Best Director discussion if the cards fall properly.

We’ll know more about “Ides” when we see it in Toronto next week. In the meantime, here’s Clooney answering questions from the media in Venice, explaining why he doesn’t view his film as a “political” film, and why he thinks politicians are running into cynicism as they attempt to govern.

Sorry about the typos in my prior comment. George you are a good man and I know it better than most in Hollywood. Though I am youger than you……I possess the kind of wisdom and strength as a woman in the modern world that money simply cannot buy. I also wanted to tell you that you don’t need all the hype of a new girlfrend to promote your work product. If your work product is good it will speak for itself. Like we say in the legal field “res ipsa loquitor”……let the thing speak for itself……I look forward to being your lawyer and future movie making partner someday…….
