Is David Fincher’s “Dragon Tattoo” about to screen? – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Is David Fincher’s adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” finished and preparing to screen for test audiences Thursday night in several key markets across the country?

That’s what followers of the Twitter feed “Mouth Taped Shut” are being led to believe, as messages calling for RSVPs in such cities as Austin, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Chicago, Toronto and New York were posted late Tuesday night.

The feed is believed to be linked to Fincher’s upcoming thriller, which stars Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig in an American version of Larsson’s best-selling story. Over on its official Web site, MTS has posted a steady stream of behind-the-scenes “Dragon” photos and stories.

Minutes after the tweets, “Mouth” posted another message thanking fans for the “overwhelming interest,” stating that “all positions have been filled.”

Could Sony be advance screening Fincher’s December release in an effort to generate buzz? I reached out to my regional studio rep, who had no idea what the screenings were (and seemed extremely honest in the answer).

So if you are reading this, and happened to RSVP to one of the mysterious events, drop me a line and let me know what happens.

The rest of us will have to wait until Dec. 21, when Fincher’s film officially reaches theaters.
