Joseph Gordon-Levitt races through “Premium Rush” trailer

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Michael Shannon are enjoying awards buzz for their performances in the moving and riveting pictures “50/50” and “Take Shelter,” respectively. In January, they’ll collaborate on a thriller with no awards aspirations that, regardless, still looks like it could be a ton of fun.

“Premium Rush” stars Gordon-Levitt as a New York City bike messenger trying to keep a mysterious envelope and its contents away from a dirty cop (Shannon). Jamie Chung, Dania Ramirez and Aasif Mandvi co-star in the Columbia Pictures movie, which David Koepp (“Stir of Echoes,” “Secret Window”) directs.

Here’s the trailer. What do you think? Welcome change of pace for Gordon-Levitt?

“Premium Rush” opens Jan. 13.
