Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” gets posterized – AWARDS ALLEY

Hollywoodnews.com: Majestic. Artistic. An emphasis on the friendship between a boy and his special horse.
The new poster for Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse,” recently revealed by EW.com, is everything that you’d expect from a period drama harboring serious Oscar hopes. We still don’t know much about “War Horse” beyond the obvious – directed by Spielberg, who knocks stories like this out of the park; adapted from a Tony Award-winning play; award-worthy collaborators such as screenwriter Richard Curtis, cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, editor Michael Kahn, and composer John Williams; released into the thick of the awards season (in fact, chosen sight unseen as the “frontrunner” by a few expert Oscar trackers).
Of course, we really won’t know anything beyond that until “War Horse” screens … and we’re still far removed from the film’s Dec. 28 release date.
But DreamWorks and Walt Disney Studios is getting the ball rolling on this film’s marketing campaign, making sure everyone knows that the story of young Albert and his beloved horse, Joey, is on its way.
Here’s the poster. The film’s full trailer follows, as well:
