“Paranormal Activity 3” secret screening and new trailer hit

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: The second Secret Screening at Fantastic Fest in Austin last night was an early viewing of Paramount’s “Paranormal Activity 3.”

The “secret” was out, to be honest, with several high-profile Fest attendees guessing “Paranormal” on Twitter prior to the midnight screening. And while reviews for the third “Activity” in as many years are online this morning, the “gotcha” sequel is one of those suspenseful horror gimmicks that’d be instantly spoiled by knowing the tricks hiding up the sleeves of directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schilman (who helmed the outstanding “Catfish”).

That being said, you might want to file away this new trailer for the third “Paranormal” – a prequel, origin story of sorts – until you’ve seen the film. As one Tweeter suggested (without even seeing the final film), the ending might be contained in this two-minute teaser. You have been warned.

“Paranormal Activity 3” opens in theaters on Oct. 21.
