Michelle Williams in more “Marilyn” images – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell Simon Curtis’s “My Week With Marilyn” has kept relatively quiet as it prepares for its Oct. 9 world premiere as part of the New York Film Festival. It bypassed the madness of the Venice-Telluride-Toronto fall festival circuit. It has screened to small groups, but has yet to post an official trailer or leak early reviews from “prominent” press.

This morning, a few new shots of Williams as blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe arrived online as part of a puff piece in the Daily Mail. At the very least, the article reveals how Curtis plans on opening his drama, which visits the tumultuous set of Monroe’s “The Prince and the Showgirl,” which she filmed with Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh).

No doubt we’ll hear more about “Marilyn,” and Williams’ performance, as we approach the film’s Oct. 9 debut. The Oscar nominee also learned earlier this week that she’ll receive the Hollywood Actress Award from the Hollywood Film Awards, which will be held later this month. Could Oscar take notice of Ms. Williams for a third time?

Here are the new images of Williams as Marilyn. “My Week with Marilyn” opens everywhere on Nov. 4.
