Glenn Close receiving Hollywood Career Achievement Award – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: I’ve been beating the drum for Glenn Close ever since seeing the Oscar-nominated actress’s meticulous performance in Rodrigo Garcia’s tender, hopeful “Albert Nobbs.” Now it sounds like people are listening.

Close will receive the Hollywood Career Achievement Award at the 15th annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Film Awards, presented by Starz Entertainment. The ceremony will be held Monday, Oct. 24 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

It’s the latest trophy Close has picked up during what’s shaping up to be a busy awards season. Last month, she collected the Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award in San Sebastian, Spain.

“It is a privilege to honor and to celebrate Glenn Close’s extraordinary talent and remarkable career,” said Carlos de Abreu, the founder and executive director of the event as well as the publisher of HollywoodNews.com.

Close is being picked by multiple Oscar trackers as a Best Actress candidate for her work as a cross-dressing butler in Garcia’s “Albert Nobbs.” I was lucky enough to sit down with Close in Toronto and discuss this moving film. Read my exclusive interview right HERE.
