Steven Spielberg teases “Tintin,” “War Horse” – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Leave it to Steven Spielberg to have two movies coming out before year’s end … with both anticipated titles dropping on the same week!

As is the case, marketing materials for both “The Adventures of Tintin” and the Oscar-hopeful “War Horse” are arriving online around the same time, giving audiences a better idea of what to expect from these features. We probably know more about “Horse,” given that it’s based on an award-winning novel and a Tony-winning stage play. “Tintin,” meanwhile, is an extremely popular character overseas … and someone who has intrigued Spielberg ever since foreign journalists compared the director’s Indiana Jones character to young Tintin way back when “Raiders” first hit.

One look at this action-packed international trailer, and you’ll understand why:

The fluid action looks absolutely amazing. “Tintin” opens in theaters on Dec. 21.

Days later, Spielberg will open “War Horse,” which unveiled its second, longer trailer:

More footage. More sentiment. More proof that Spielberg is playing his audience (and possibly the Academy) like a violin. We’ll be able to see “War Horse” on Dec. 25. Merry Christmas, Spielberg fans.
