Julia Roberts as Evil Queen in Tarsem Singh’s Snow White

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who’s the “Pretty Woman” in that gold dress looking like she’s plotting something sinister?

Julia Roberts plans to torment Lily Collins in Tarsem Singh’s as-yet-untitled Snow White epic, and EW has the first look at the gold-plated Evil Queen. “She’s the cat that ate the canary,” Singh tells the magazine. “From serial killers to anyone who does evil deeds, they basically have a devil-made-me-do-it excuse, or they hear voices.”

“I decided for the evil queen, this is going to be a person who sees her [good] self — but there’s a mirror personality,” he continues.

Singh’s version also stars Armie Hammer, Sean Bean and Nathan Lane. It will be in theaters on March 16, and competes (sort of) with Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth’s “Show White and the Huntsman,” which has its own wicked queen in Charlize Theron.
