Leonardo DiCaprio in patriotic “J. Edgar” poster – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Patriotism runs rampant at the multiplex these days. Wait until you see some of the beautiful shots “Ides of March” cinematographer Phedon Papamichael slides into George Clooney’s thriller. One particularly heated conversation between Ryan Gosling and Philip Seymour Hoffman behind the scenes at a campaign rally stands out. And now there’s this striking new poster for Clint Eastwood’s pending “J. Edgar,” which Warner Bros. just dropped.

It’s so much more effective than the standard version of the exact same shot.

I’d hang that first one on my wall, whether the movie worked for me or not.

“J. Edgar” prepares to screen at AFI Fest in L.A. It opens in limited release on Nov. 9 , then goes wide on Nov. 11.
