Ryan Seacrest, Reese Witherspoon co-producing a rom-com

By Sean O’Connell
Hollywoodnews.com: Because Ryan Seacrest doesn’t wear enough “hats,” he’s adding the title of “Movie Producer” to his professional resume.

The talk-radio star and annual host of FOX’s “American Idol” plans to produce a romantic comedy with co-producer Reese Witherspoon, THR reports. Though it dopesn’t yet have a title, the film will be written by “Grey’s Anatomy” screenwriter Krista Vernoff, according to the trade.

“News of their romantic comedy project comes mere days after Vernoff had sold a legal drama with a supernatural twist to CBS. The project pairs Vernoff, whose other small screen credits include ‘Charmed’ and ‘Private Practice,’ with producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly,” THR adds.

I wonder if Witherspoon will star in this eventual vehicle? That could help on so many levels. She’s probably just waiting to see the final script.

In the meantime, Witherspoon’s about to show up in a romantic-comedy with an action angle in McG’s “This Means War,” due out early next year. And Seacrest … well, he has his fingers in a million pots, and just placed them into another one.
