“Like Crazy” team attending L.A. Q-and-A screenings – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
hollywoodnews.com: A handful of films with Oscar aspirations are taking the show on the road, bringing the movie – and related talent – to the people for screenings and Q-and-A sessions. Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody have been traveling with “Young Adult.” And similarly, Drake Doremus is bringing his Sundance romance “Like Crazy” to select L.A. theaters this weekend for conversations with the audience and his cast.

Felicity Jones will be at the Arctlight in Sherman Oaks tonight, Nov. 4, at the 8:10 p.m. screening.

Anton Yelchin will be at the Landmark in West L.A. on Saturday, Nov. 5, for the 7:45 p.m. screening.

And Doremus will attend two screenings this weekend: Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Arclight Pasadena (8:15 p.m.) and Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Landmark West L.A. at 5:30 p.m.

I think it’s a great strategy, putting the people behind the films in front of the people who pay to enjoy them. More filmmakers should emerge from behind the curtain, particularly during awards season, to participate in these memorable, interactive experiences when they can.
