Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” sneak previewing over Thanksgiving weekend – AWARDS ALLEY

By Sean O’Connell
hollywoodnews.com: Cameron Crowe’s “We Bought a Zoo” isn’t the only Christmas-time release getting a jump start on the holiday (and awards) season with a Thanksgiving sneak.
Disney/DreamWorks has revealed that Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” will screen in 10 major U.S. cities on Sunday, Nov. 27, with a director Q-and-A that will originate from New York City and beam digitally to participating theaters.
According to a release, Spielberg’s adaptation of the Tony-winning play will screen at 2 p.m. EST, with simultaneous screenings in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Boston, Washington DC, Seattle, Miami, and Atlanta.
Tickets to the screenings (which are full) were handed out in bookstores and shopping centers, continuing the film’s grassroots marketing trend of bringing “War Horse” to the people before the media gets a long look.
Oscar analyst Mark Harris then will conduct a Spielberg interview following the “War Horse” screening, and audience members will be able to text in questions from various screenings.
The movie opens nationwide on Dec. 25.
