“Book of Mormon” coming to Los Angeles in September

By Sean O’Connell It is, without question, the hottest ticket on Broadway. And now, it will become the hottest ticket in Los Angeles.

“The Book of Mormon,” Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Tony Award-winning musical, announced an L.A. run at the Pantages Theatre that begins Sept. 5 and runs through Nov. 25, according to THR.

“We moved to Los Angeles twenty years ago to try and make it as filmmakers,” Parker and Stone said. “The last thing we expected is that one day we would be bringing our Broadway musical here. It’s crazy and great.”

As the trade reports, “Mormon” destroyed the Tonys earlier this year, taking home nine trophies including best musical, score, book, direction and featured actress.

The L.A. dates will be part of a “Mormon” national tour, which kicks off Aug. 14 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.
